Sonic postcards from Nepal, Uganda, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Cambodia and Hong kong, based on field recordings from public spaces: markets, streets, temples and open areas, depicting the inhabitants every day's life. The source materials have been collected from sound ecologists such as Hildegard Westerkamp, as well as sound engineers like Geir Jenssen (Biosphere) & Oz Fritz (prod. Bill Laswell).

There are mixes at 8tracks (not so many since so far) under the tag "field recordings" documenting soundscapes like this mix. I personally like to merge field recordings with music in order to create audio narratives and stories. You may find some of mine in the "field recordings" tab.
For research, bandcamp is an excellent resource for artists and phonographers from all over the world. Under the tag "field recordings" you may find a lot of material for your acoustic pleasure. Soundcloud is also an excellent place, as well as. blogspots and magazines like: www.phonography.org, www.headphonecommute.com, www.freemusicarchive.com and may many others... just google :)
