I first heard the track "All Blues" after downloading it from Napster in 2000. At first it was just part of a collection of tracks found on the illegal service but it quickly resonated with me making it stand out. Searching for more music from the artist "Miles Davis" on Napster I quickly found "Freddie Freeloader" and "So What". My ability to taste music was changing like someone first being introduced to wine. Them came "Blue in Green" and it's amazingly delicate style. With "Flamenco Sketches" I completed the album. Those illegal copies lead to a purchase of a Miles Davis box set, the CD, and the original record (noted for the record companies). This was a pivotal point for me as a music listener. I could remember being young and fascinated by a particular sound. Was it blues, was it rock, was it jazz? I didn't know how to describe it but I knew it distinctly. Hearing "Kind of Blue" was amazing because never in one setting did I hear the sound I loved so much so concentrated. This music is amazing. Relax to it. Work to it. Make love to it. It's that amazing. It starts out with an NPR documentary on the album "Kind of Blue". Following are the 6 tracks of the album. And finally it's finished with another NPR documentary on Miles Davis himself.
