So thought provoking. We need more playlist like this on here. Excellent job!

What would I go about searching on youtube for the Shock and Awe video, who is the man talking? Props for this mix too.

the video is titled, "Shock and Awe: A Former Christian Ponders the Cosmos" by the user Fibbs1701

This has to be one of my favorite mixes I have ever heard. Had to put down the pen and listen. Great stuff. thank you.

I think it's great how you've put cosmology lectures/talks to tracks like Together We Will Live Forever (Literally, The Fountain is my favorite soundtrack), and To Build a Home. Well done.

You do realize "theists" can "contemplate the universe" inside themselves too...its one thing to say the universe is complex and all that. it is. and im a christian (we do believe in evolution btw). but broadly labeling organized religion as a "fable" aint cool dude. you can disagree with me and i can disagree with you, but i respect you, while you dismiss me. You can even be right, but still ignorant.

All religions are limiters on this amazingly complex universe we live in, I wish to live in a world without these constraints; personal afflictions or 'spiritual' issues, religion does just that & I will NOT respect a dogmatic regime that controls people, because all in all.. it's not your independent belief that you are following, but someone else's preconceived ideals. Think outside what you know.

ok, im not about to start a formal debate on organized religion on 8tracks. but if I did it'd be along the lines of "contemplate the soul inside you" or something clever like that. (Yes, somebody else conceived of the soul before me, but I am totally stealing that idea. Call me a sheep)

There is no debate, just open minds & closed ones. Do what you want, & no that doesn't sound clever at all, you're implying that a 'soul' exists & is real, when again, you have no evidence other than preconceived thoughts to support such claims, just ideals made up by mankind to attempt to understand the concept of the unknown. Peace.

Great mix, regardless of my beliefs.
"There is no debate, just open minds & closed ones"
Closed minds:
"Intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others; stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas." Mmmm.

I listened to the entire thing while staring intently out a window at a tree. It made me cry. And I'm not even high.

Carl Sagan does his predecessors very little credit. That an atheist should simply see religion in the ancients speaks to the religious nature of isms. I question myself, that's what being an atheist is to me.
