you wake up earlier than usual for some reason, cosy in bed. suddenly it clicks: christmas morning! you shoot up, finding a stocking full to the brim at the foot of the bed. quickly you step into your slippers, wrap up in a dressing gown and race downstairs. you excitedly run towards the scent of pine, wood, and paper. arriving, you see the once empty space under the christmas tree now bursting with parcels and trinkets, ribbons and bows. there's nothing quite like that feeling of christmas morning. sun peaking through the early mist, its light twinkling with the frost on the grass. dying embers from last night's wood fire. fresh paper on the presents your parents wrapped long into the night. and the thrill of the unknown ahead, just waiting to be discovered.
