Gatwitch stands for “child of the land” in Nuer (Naath), a language of a Nilotic ethnic group in Southern Sudan. The music/media house was founded by former child soldier and now an internationally acclaimed hip hop artist and human rights activist, Emmanuel Jal. A multi-national company based out of Toronto Ontario, Gatwitch Records aims to release and support a diverse range of Canadian and international artists who are socially conscious. The first album being released by the label is the highly anticipated fourth studio album of Emmanuel Jal titled "See Me Mama".
