Spooky music from the Australian continent. Gothic in the classical literature sense, in terms of lyrical themes, rather than directly descended from the sounds of post-punk, no wave, metal and industrial. Though by no means mutually exclusive, the sounds here are also informed by folk, blues, country and shoegaze, and contain a distinctly Australian sense of space and isolation. 18 tracks, including The Triffids, The Paradise Motel and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

Enjoying this so far (as I listen to TPM - new one out now?!) 'Classical literature sense' made me think of the writer Nathaniel Hawthorne, quite appropriately. Been meaning to put my own Aussie mix up (to spread the great music scene going on atm). Cheers from CA!
