Directors Who Know How to Build a Soundtrack #2: Jim Jarmusch

Some filmmakers accentuate their movies with music that improves and creates tone, details the world in which the characters live in, and makes the viewing experience for the audience all the more enjoyable. Jim Jarmusch is certainly not a stranger to this concept. Here's seventeen tracks from his various films including music by Wu-Tang Clan, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and The Stooges.

OH MY GOD YES.

I think the opening of "Stranger than Paradise" with the plane landing + the tracking shot Eszter Balint walking the New York City streets + the transistor radio playing Screamin' Jay Hawkins is one of the most ICONIC openings in all of American cinema.

Excellent! <3

Neil Youngs' music for Dead Man is awesome...!!! One of the best soundtracks I know.
