I'm actually editing right now but I shoot landscapes from the Rockies to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. A although I prefer to listen to what the natural environment has to share and let it guide me. Like hearing a far distant sound of moving water and letting it be your guide having no idea what your going to find. Then when you find the source of the sound it's much louder and more beautiful than you could have imagined. A 40' waterfall that's only 6' from bank to bank and it is falling down into a deep pool into a beautiful oasis.. But I love this mix and i'm pretty picky , I think this maybe the first playlist I haven't skipped a track. John Mayor's cover of "Free Fallen" is one of my all time favorites and i'm not even really into much of his music except that live session. I never get tired of it. Thanks for the relaxing evening!

out of this world! wish i had known about your playlist, i would have played it last photoshoot! so awesome! its so much like mine!

i could imagine shooting vast countryside, wide open spaces, wide roads, or maybe NY friday night on a building rooftop. Thanks for this playlist!

heidi_marie you're right - mostly either fashion work or music work. In the former case I need to get them pumped up (or in whatever mood I'm trying to get the mood for the shot. In the latter case I usually have the artist play their own music. When I do personal work I ask them to bring music that inspires them. I guess it was partly the 9-5 that caught my attention as I don't generally have shoots go that long except when I'm doing fashion work.

@sander_martjn -- I think it depends on the genre of photography. I'm assuming your do more fashion or fine art photography, correct? In that regard, your models are used to being in front of the camera, and therefore only need the music to pump them up. My current lot in life is photographing executive portraits... which means I'm photographing lawyers, real estate agents and bankers. These people are NOT comfortable in front of the camera, and therefore the mellower music calms them and puts them at ease.

When i do fashion photography, you better believe I bust out my Beyonce stash. :)

And thank you everyone else for all the love... I'm so glad you are enjoying my mix!!

I LOVE this playlist, but as a photographer I can't imagine using it for a shoot - I have a bunch of playlists for shoots but they're all pretty upbeat. I wonder if it's a NYC thing vs. southern as most other NY photographers I know do the same thing... either way I have a piece on the use of music with photography at http://thoughts.sander-martijn.com/2011/02/bringing-music-to-your-s... - \check it out and tell me what you think!

I have been listening to this playlist for a week now and I never get tired of it. I have never favorite so many tracks in one playlist. This is great for studying and working. It helped me get through my History essay. Thanks!
