i've never been to one, but somehow i think it might not be as blissful as it's billed to be. i met a woman in an airport who ran one, and was intrigued by her. she didn't look enlightened. she looked tired. she looked battle hardened. i started to think about the things we do to supposedly chill ourselves out. relaxation retreats must be full of stressed, dissatisfied people looking for a little escapism. could they actually find it? and what happens when you put a whole bunch of tension in a room full of mats? do the tensions go away? i feel like no... maybe not... at least, it would be a good story premise. and maybe you'd sneak a few epiphanies in the gaps?
