Disaster and catastrophe... They can be used pretty much interchangeably as far as I'm aware. Though the word "disaster" comes from greek words meaning "bad star." Some believe the word was influenced by comets appearing in the sky (traditionally a bad omen).

And yeah... I should include some Tool in one or two of these mixes, huh? :)
