I really enjoyed this! thx ...you should check out manegarm and einherjer in the vicking metal scene if you haven't already. I recommend the songs manegarm - daughters of eve and einherjer - storm of elders

Actually most of these are more irish than nordic. But who cares. ;-) Amon amarth are pure vikings though.

Amaon Amarth is marketed as vikings, but the music is really not. It is more melodic death. There has only been one viking metal band, that has done it right - Bathory.

As a Swede I have to ask if you've also heard Amon amarth? Much less strings, more bass, very viking metal.

Of course I have, I am actually considering making a new viking mix and including them :D My initial idea for this mix was pretty different, but then I couldn't help myself blend in some Alcest and Empyrium, and they're definetly not viking, but I hope nobody minded :)
