Thanks for the suggestions. Despite a pretty large Ike and Tina collection I don't have Rhode Island Red and I don't know either of the other artists at all.
If you have them [or any others], upload them and I can get them from the network
Cheers

Thanks. I've added them both in. Dave Edmunds' Get Out Of Denver [which was being a placeholder for Colorado] has gone to another place...

love your mixes, and this is a great concept. i was working on a solid list of songs about the planets, but i'm not satisfied with it yet.
anyway, some of these are probably a little too obscure and old timey, but i've uploaded:
- connie's got connections in connecticut (hoosier hot shots)
- my oklahoma home (bruce springsteen/seegers)
- nebraska (bruce springsteen)
- ohio (crosby, stills, nash & young)
- arrah go back i'm gonna go back to oregon (george gershwin) - no words, don't know how you feel about that
- long vermont roads - (the magnetic fields)

Yay!
Updated. Thanks for the songs - but despite my login, I chose Frank Sinatra over The Magnetic Fields for Vermont.

Delaware has GOT to be "Delaware Rain" by The Paint Set, a wonderful indie pop track from the 80s by Ric Menck later of Velvet Crush. Unfortunately, I'm on vacation at the moment, so I don't have it handy, but if you can't find it I'll upload it when I get back.
There's "North To Alaska" by Johnny Horton and "Charlotte's in North Carolina" by Keith Whitley. "Jersey Girl" by Tom Waits almost fits. "Arizona" by Mark Lindsay isn't really about the state but it's a good pop tune.

Two suggestions:
World Inferno Friendship Society - My Ancestral Homeland, New Jersey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGuR9NC8YtM
Lawrence Arms - Nebraska: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfHcaAu-aNQ
I'll try to dig for these tracks at home. (As a Jersey denizen I really dig the World Inferno track.)

How about "Oklahoma USA" by those famous Okies, the Kinks? It's on their fine Muswell Hillbillies album.

Love your mixes - the Penn & Oldham is great - but I can't keep up with you!
How about Rhode Island Red by Ike & Tina Turner & Colorado by Jimmy Rankin - Nova Scotian singer- songwriter. From his "Handmade" album. Good luck!
