As the turbulent 60’s ended, young people everywhere were seeking solace from the violence in Vietnam, racial tensions at home & political unrest around the world. They found an outlet for their frustrations in music, drugs, art & self exploration & they found it at the corner of Haight & Ashbury in San Fran. It’s hard to fathom what it must have been like to be alive & free in 1967; to experience the world as a member of the hippie counterculture but they left behind their music & it endures.

'Tis the season! Time to drag the tree out of storage, wrestle free what seems like a trillion & ten tangled strings of lights, accidentally break a few overpriced glass ornaments & litter the floor with glitter galore all in the name of getting that tree lookin' tip top for the 25th! Here are a smattering of my favorite classic tracks from Christmases past that I play when we trim our tree.

I made this mix earlier this year for the great Judgment Day 'o May that was predicted by Harold Camping. There was a miscalculation; he's now predicting it will come to pass on October 21, 2011. Soooooooooo if you, like me, are a sinful sinning sinner with no chance of being ripped from your moving automobile or comfy bed on a lovely fall Friday a few months from now then kick back with these tracks and wave the "worthy" goodbye!
