Body waning with booze, head swimming with sleepiness, eyes surrounded by dark circles, walking or riding through a town when everything's closed, even the bars...this mix is for that melancholic hour. Featuring the talents of Nina Simone, John Cale, Bessie Smith and many others.

20 tracks. Lots of my (and probably your) favorite classics--including some from Grateful Dead and Skynard--but don't miss the more modern rock in between and the newer bands at the end--My Morning Jacket and Jonathan Wilson. Psychedelic rock, progressive rock, folk rock and some hard rock. All GOOD rock and good jam bands. Don't miss a beat. :)

Levon Helm is one of my favorite drummers of all time, a member of one my all time favorite groups, and not only one of my favorite musicians of all time, but to me, one of the coolest guys to ever walk the Earth. Sadly, he has parted ways with this world yesterday. In tribute to the man, here's 12 songs that he graces with his talent. Music has truly lost a real hero.
