I had such a strong affinity for early delta blues, it really took me a while to warm up to post-war rhythm & blues. My natural snobbish instinct was to agree with Son House's rant in 1967's "Festival!" I still do think that he's right. It's not the BLUSE. Call it jump blues if you want, but for so many days, it's what keeps me going.

I'm very excited about heading to the Melbourne Lindy Exchange (www.mlx11.com) this weekend. This year's theme is "Turning it up to 11". I think these tunes do just that - in a swing & jump blues fashion.
Enjoy - and swing out!
