Continuing with my era-specific series, now I'm looking at arguably my favorite era of music, 1971-1973 in Los Angeles. This era was experimental, poppy, sugar-sweet (hence dessert), and wonderful, driven by advances in studio quality and the investment big labels were making in talented artists. List includes Van Dyke Parks, Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman.

Just got back from a trip to LA. With all the time spent in a car, that place demands good music - no talk radio podcasts here. Lots of guitars, lots of synths, lots of good vibes.
