What a year it was for music! New albums put out by reunited bands, exciting up-and-coming artists, and overall stunning music made 2011 a memorable year. Enjoy this playlist consisting of a song from each of my top 15 albums, which I thought were very impressive releases, as well as 10 songs from albums that should also be checked out.

I left philly on a sad note. I woke up one morning with a 'dear john' letter from my girlfriend, I lost my job, my friends moved on. I spent my final month in solitude pondering life. As I packed my apartment to move onto the next stage I listened to a lot of indie rock and older rock. I actually listened to the last track on this mix "the samples - birth of words" as I headed north away from Philadelphia and into the horizon.

The songs of my last month featuring balcony sessions in the sun (Hocus Pocus), cycling drunk through town, singing along (Sufjan Stevens) and yet another newcomer, i'm not quite sure, whether she's good or just overrated (Marina & The Diamonds).
