Heavy Songs for the End of the World

Joshe2424

Icon.plays.1305464659 24

Metal/shoegaze/stoner songs with clean, non-operatic, non-terrible female vocals. Most have an apocalyptic, otherworldly feeling that makes it a good soundtrack for 2012.

Sounds from The Ptolemaic Terrascope

Harvestblastsound

This great magazine was always a joy to read, what with all of the reviews of and interviews with amazing, oftentimes legendary, against-the-grain kind of artists (usually of a psychedelic nature). Each issue would be released with music by artists in said issue. These songs would sometimes be unavailable anywhere else, other times they were still just fantastic stand out tracks. Here are just a few from PT's glory days including Greg Weeks, Man With John Cipollina, Comets on Fire, etc.

Shoving my Head into the Microwave: The Best Acid Freak Outs & Monstrously Face Melting Psychedelic Jams

Harvestblastsound

Icon.plays.1305464659 208

Seventy of the gangliest, craziest, trippiest mind fuck-acid induced jams, including music by Hawkwind, Grails, and LSD Pond. So lay back for awhile, throw on the noise canceling headphones and take a tab or four, because this is meant for some of those long trips.

John Peel Sessions

Harvestblastsound

Out of the absolutely huge archive of Peel sessions that are available, these are some of my favorite (that I've heard so far). So here's a tribute to an amazing DJ, music lover, and human being. If only we could have hung out and shared records...
Featuring live sessions by Flying Saucer Attack, Boards Of Canada, Nick Drake and many others.

Space Punk

These songs give me the feeling of living in a Science Fiction novel. Not some lame-ass cyberpunk shit, but a good one, like the one I'll write someday (ahem). Drug wars in space, malfunctioning killer robots, clones, zombies and zombie clones.

15 tracks, 88 minutes.
