hi there! looks like it's time for another self-indulgent overly long mix! at least it's somewhat concise this time. 24 of my favorite songs that utilize primarily string instruments in a folkish manner. we've got a little Elliott Smith here, some Daniel Johnston there. and what would a folk mix be without Bob Dylan? also: a plethora of Minnesotan artists. what what!

I've been working on this one for quite a while. Yikes, it's 61 tracks! Just think of it this way: bookmark it (shameless suggestion) and listen to it incrementally. Is that the right word? Or just waste all your skips on it. Or don't listen to it at all. It's up to you, really.

Most of these songs consist of crushing despair and sadness. I may or may not have shed tears to some of these tracks. Disclaimer: the FotC song that I named the mix after is not included.
