Somewhere between the shallow pop music and agressive rock'n'roll lies this common radio term of Adult Alternative (AAA). It is too describe music too ambitious to be called pop and too downtempo and meldodic to be called rock'n'roll....The last decade of the last century was a certain golden age for this genre, as ýou can hear in these 26 songs...The music includes artists like Chris Isaak, World Party and The Cardigans....

There was a time when each one of the artists in this playlist thought "Not even God can take me off my pedestal". That thought rarely lasted long unfortunately.

These songs put me back in the back seat - fighting with my sisters, no say about the radio station, and singing along to inappropriate pop music (as children often do). These were my jams around age 4-9 - whether i liked it or not.

A ton of great songs with tons of memories from the 90's. Once I started adding - I couldn't stop. I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

We gonna back. Back to when radio stations played it all.No separate special lists for different types of music.Just real good music playing thru the air. Dick Clark was a "primary force in legitimizing music to America's whole population. The show gave music artists their first exposure to national audiences, Ike and Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, and Simon & Garfunkel. His shows were among the first where blacks and whites performed on the same stage and the audience seating was desegregated.

MTV started in 1981, popularized and reshaped how music reached the world for the next 2 decades, another matter that its a shame today, but it was an important conduit for experiencing music while it lasted.
60 tracks then from the awesome music decade of 1990, one I had a fortune of growing up in, perhaps the last of the decades where music was meant for senses and not to pander to commercialism and titillation.
I know I am missing a long list from 90's, thus just part 1.
Enjoy.
