19 mixes with songs by “Mary+Black”

Barney McKenna died april the 5th 2012 (while sipping coffee, not whiskey!). This is a tribute (counting 8 tracks) to him, with of course Banjo Barney himself as member of the Dubliners, but also The Fureys and Mary Black.

This was the playlist of my trip to Ireland. I know, I know, artists are not only Irish but the atmosphere is somewhat similar

These eight are a wild and off-kilter mix of great artists either doing unexpected covers (Mary Black sings Aretha, Liverpool's The Christians sing Sean O'Riada's Women of Ireland and The Chieftain's pair with Sting on Leonard Cohen's Sisters of Mercy and Paddy Reilly singing Woody Guthrie's Deportees) or simply classic performances.
