Just in time for New Year's, 100 of my favorite songs from this past year, not ranked, but rather in a (hopefully) cohesive and flowing playlist, building from slower indie rock to more cheerful stuff, to garage/psychedelia, to some ladies with big voices, to hip hop and outre R&B, to a mix of danceable and ambient electronica, to more experimental stuff, and then beautifully fades out, like a sunset.

Music has always been an essential accompaniment to time spent in the kitchen. This playlist is a mixed bag of genres, with some toe-tapping jazzy tunes and a few super mellow tracks.
