I was trying to make a compilation of every single great indie song I know, it ended up being over 200 songs. This is part one of that list, which is 55 tracks.

These are pitchfork's top 100 songs of 2010. (one of the most respected sites that rates music). I realize that this is a bit late. And I realize that it will not play well as a playlist. However listening to this is a good way to discover new good music. (i wrote random letters as the albums because it wouldn't let me put all of the tracks from the same album)

In my ideal scenario for the outbreak of a "rage virus" of some sort and the eventual crumbling of civilization as we know it, I'd get suited up like Sargeant Nicholas Angel from Hot Fuzz, over on the left there. These 17 tracks are the soundtrack to that (beautiful dark twisted) fantasy, a collection of songs with ass-kicking guitar riffs, droning bass, an obsession with death, foot-stomping beats and the sinking feeling that you're surrounded.
