A taste of what I got up to when I used to do college radio, way back in the 2005's.

Christian Indie

A search of "Christian Indie" on 8tracks revealed nothing, so I decided to fill the hole. Many of these songs are not explicit in their faith but these artists are generally considered to be Christian. Artists range from indie kings like mewithoutYou and As Cities Burn to rising stars like Milano and others. 25 tracks to show indie types that Christian music can be good and Christian types that indie music is good. Drop a comment if you know any other great Christian indie artists not on here.

music for my future children

youngreezy

The theme of this mix is music for my future children. I want my children to appreciate music at an early age and these songs are more than accessible to children. Song topics include animal tales, treehouses, wagons, and being 10 years old, and incorporate singsong melodies and group vocals. Disclaimer: The opener is 9 minutes long. Thirteen tracks, including music by Architecture In Helsinki, Bowerbirds and Breathe Owl Breathe.

Postalgia

So the common themes here are that a lot of this music has been called "post-" something or other, and most all of the songs seem to me to have a nostalgic feel for one reason or another. Or, to borrow a phrase from F.X. Feeney, I feel like there's something in each of these songs that "either plays to your memory or plays to your hope." Fifteen delightfully painful tracks, plus as a bonus a sixteenth holiday number which is postalgic in its own right.
