I try to be thankful every day of the year so Thanksgiving is really just another day for me but it's undeniable what we all REALLY care about as the fourth Thursday in November is upon us which is the F-O-O-D! Whether you're preparing & hosting the feast this year or just drivin' to Grandma's to partake, this 40 song set will get you in the mood to get your grub on!

Beethoven composed this string quartet following a life-threatening illness and many see it as his song of thanks for his recovery. This third movement is often known as The Heiliger Dankgesang, The Song of Thanksgiving. At first I found it quite slow/intimating, but the more I listen, the more I fall in love.

Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life... a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year - and the deep, deep connection of all these things with God.

The holidays are at my house this year, so I made a mix to listen to while we eat (and digest) dinner. Forty-some-odd tracks including music by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, and Cab Calloway with the Cabbaliers.

This is likely to change as I add stuff I forgot.

What I'm thankful for:

I have ENDLESS LOVE for all of my FRIENDS and FAMILY. I'm thankful that I have a family as big as the MAFIA. I'm thankful that I got to take a trip and visit ALL OF MY PEOPLE in PORTUGAL this year. I'm thankful that I'm able to live in a wonderful city like BOSTON. I'm thankful that I'm still young, and for my lovely AMINAL Cecilia (See photo). Most of all, I'm thankful for LIFE itself.
