Old & Wonderful - Pt 01

2 comments on Old & Wonderful - Pt 01

I love this mix....& I love the index that murilo_sp provided. I love the mixture of classic songs, the lesser known songs, and the off version of a familiar song done freshly by Dusty Springfield. I do love Nick Drake and Tim Buckley and Leonard Cohen, they form a formidible troika. To hear the Louvin Brothers and Fred Neil on the same set just feels right, since the poor Louvin Brothers and so many others here made beauty despite personal sorrow and real tragedy and abuse.

all in all, bravo, murilo_sp!!!

I wish more people either listened to these mixes or (if they are listening) commented. This site is great and real humans tell us something, in our blood like murilo_sp does here, about that person, life, and about our own lonely selves.

Boy is Fred Neil undervalued and under represented in looks at 60's and 70's music. Magnificent songwriter, Everybody's Talking, The Other Side of This Life, The Dolphin, etc., and bass voice that tells you what whiskey tastes like,

Kudos to my friend murilo_sp, and we are friends here in the feelings where friendships are eternal, even if we have never met yet....
