'I've got nothing to do today but smile"(Simon & Garfunkel - The Only Living Boy in New York) is my favourite line from all the songs I know and also the title of my first playlist as you maybe noticed. I think that that's a great motto to work from, though I'm glad that there are many other to do. I like smiling a lot because I truly believe that everything is much nicer when you're happy, but that won't help me a lot here.
ActuaIly I'm just here to listen to music because that's what I like to do most, but I also enjoy books, poems, art, tea, coffee, theatre, cake, sun, late night talks and films a lot :).
The music I enjoy most is folk, because it simply makes me very happy. I think it's beautiful to strip music down to the very basics. This definitely does not mean that I don't like other types of music, it just means that I could listen to folk at any random moment of the day, or night.
Nick Drake has made the most beautiful music I have ever heard, It sounds rather paradoxical for Nick Drake's music isn't exactly happy, but it surely is the most beautiful music I have ever heard.
Unfortunately I will never be able to see him playing live. I try to make up for that by going to as many other concerts as possible and even though I wish I had more time and money to see more shows, so far I am pretty content. Especially Sufjan Stevens last May blew me away completely. I still start smiling when I think of that show.
