The band was conceived during a homecoming of sorts—not in the heat of a romantic dalliance, but a brotherly collaboration. Prodigal sons return and find themselves playing proud papa to a Sad Baby Wolf. As a band, they’re still nascent, not fully formed, and they seem to be celebrating it. Formed in 2010 when the lead singer, Marty Crandall, had just been “let go” from The Shins, they’ve only recently begun thinking of themselves as a concrete entity with a visible horizon. Hoping to have a full album early next year and continuing to gig, the wolflet still cuts its milk teeth.
