A gang of shapeshifters and werewolves travel the country, moving from place to place based on who's getting suspicious. (Throughout most of the book, they are centred in the Pacific Northwest.) When one of the newly changed werewolves accidentally shifts in a parking lot and is caught on the security footage, they're on the run, determined to avoid the monster hunters that have been set on their trail. But they can't run forever, and eventually some of them are captured and shipped off to a laboratory to undergo experiments. Now the rest of the pack has to get over the feuds and bitterness brewing from within and hurry to save their family before it's too late.
