Kate Earl (b. 1981) is a Filipina American singer-songwriter, now based in Los Angeles. Born Kate Joy Smithson on the 8th October 1981 to Charles and Pomposa Smithson in Chugiak, Alaska. her debut album, Fate Is the Hunter, was released on the 10th May 2005. Her songs have a jazzy-soul feel and progression, though her influences also trace back to her late father's old warped wartime records.
