Notes
This year featured some great music in Jazz from the modern/sweeping (such as Kamasi Washington's The Epic) to the classic-sounding (such as Rudresh Mahanthappa's Birdcalls) to the nearly insane (such as Deux Mansions' For Sale) to the experimental/ambient (such as Jakob Bro's Gefion). Is this mix 4 and a half hours long? Sure it is. I've put too much in it. So, if you don't like something, skip it and you'll like the next one. I've tried to arrange it as more approachable/toe-tapping first, then more free/experimental, then more quiet to close it out. Anything you like, be sure to check out, all of the source albums are fantastic. Support Jazz, please enjoy, and let me know if I missed anything great! (The last two tracks are from some of my favorite albums of the year by the way).

Sort of hit and miss for me overall - but Kamasi Washington is truly amazing. Agree with henry.hawikns.wells about Christian Stott too.

Such a good list. Jazz needs more airtime...it's come a long way in the last couple decades! Loving the new stuff from Christian Scott particularly
