I grew up listening to Tezeta by Seyfu Yohannes and this reminds me of my childhood :)

Thank you for sharing cannot stop listening!!

theorgandonor

You're welcome. I'll make a Volume 2 somewhere in the future.

I love it! Do you understand Amharic?

theorgandonor

No, I don't understand Amharic, but I suppose the lyrics are as touching as the music?

1000x times better ..

F***ING AWESOME. I've always been curious about that "Ethiopiques" series, and now I'm kicking myself for never checking one out!

SpaceBunnySounds

I picked up Vol. 8 "Swinging Addis" and am really diggin it. I think I'll go for a more jazz oriented one next time. I AM hooked. Thanks again! I also pushed your mix on some friends, and that's going over well.

theorgandonor

Vol. 4 is the most jazz oriented I think. It features Duke Ellington on the cover, and the tracks are by Mulate Astatke, who is still touring! Enjoy!

SpaceBunnySounds

Oh neat. I have a recent album by Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics (which I really like), so it'll be cool to hear where it started.

Deathinteresse

Magical.
