Stardust was composed in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics added in 1929 by Mitchell Parish. In 1999, the song was included in the "NPR 100", as one of the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century. This mix includes some of the best renditions of the standard by brilliant artists including Fats Waller, Dave Brubeck and Lionel Hampton.
