Bark is an Oxford based music magazine coming out early in May. Here you will find playlists made by members of our team * Bark is a new monthly music zine based in oxford. Within its two-toned pages we take an aesthetic look into sound; transforming vibrations into ideas, words and pictures. The articles and reviews weave gently around the freshly assembled illustration and photography. We strive to hunt out the most striking and skillful artists to work with the writing and give them both equal importance on the page. Bark is an object you’ll keep, making old news evolve onto your walls to evolve past its howling crescendo. Think of the unfolded issue as a map, no area is ever isolated. Everything is intertwined. We want to challenge the perception of music journalism and find the new or lost voices in the dark venues of oxford. We want to extend our arms through the thick saturated crowds and tightly grasp onto new contexts of music we hear. We want to be the eyes on a scene turned on its head. We’ll tackle it to the floor and eat through its throat like a musical gazelle. We’ll think twice if you do.

Who the hell is KidVector, and just what is he doing on the homepage? In that time he has played along side many artists including, Four Tet, Prefuse 73, Daedelus, Caribou, J Rocc, Nobody, Battles, DJ Vadim, Jamie Lidell and Jackson and His Computer Band. KidVector has been involved in numerous projects within the music industry, including running independent label Camshot Records, where he helped break artists Infinite Livez (Big Dada) and the excellent (and highly sought after) King Seven. KidVector also founded Akanda, an online project dedicated to monthly remix competitions, working with artists and labels such as Telefon Tel Aviv, Forss, Melodic, Memphis Industries and Ninja Tune.
