BIO:
David Powers may have earned his stripes from raw guitar virtuosity – he was one of 3 finalists in Guitar Player Magazine’s “Guitar Hero 06’ competition – but impressing the likes of Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather and other hardened, celebrity judges (all of whom praised David for his playing, tone, guitar choice and performance) was only the beginning. Powers is an epic songwriter who blends the traditional heavy-rock ballad format with effortless harmonies.
A Westchester, NY native, David took root in the tri-state area music scene. He has performed hundreds of gigs in the area’s most popular venues, building a die-hard fan base in the process. Powers’ recent move into the studio was a natural progression, but one that industry insiders have surely not missed. “Songwriting, production…” said Pam Brooks, DJ and PD of Cumulous Media, “David is what music has been waiting for…TALENT!”
With LOUDER, his debut release from Mindride Records, David Powers showcases his dynamic virtuosity while paying tribute to the classic rock aesthetic. From the leading heavy metal intro of "Never Gonna Know" to the 80's Van Halen homage '1984', this album keeps the adrenaline pumping. ‘Heroes’ reverberates against the backdrop of modern rock, a classic anthem that asks the universal question, “Where have all the heroes gone?” The track even cues the ghost of Alice in Chains with an eerily harmonic bridge and minor guitar riffs. Without doubt, ‘Louder’ exemplifies what Rock n’ Roll is all about – be sure to turn it up to 11.
-Louder is available everywhere on September 30th 08’-

I am a total music freak, simply put. I listen to lots of different stuff, everything from avant-garde death metal to indie rock to jazz. I'm primarily interested in more experimental rock and metal, especially very atmospheric and textural music.
