“Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.”

Born to a huge Southern family, Katie Hager was never the normal child. Her first word was "absolutely" pronounced "ass-oh-ru-ree". Her major religious influences were Roman Catholic and Voodoo. Her brother was a rockstar and her sister an ingenue. Would she ever find normalcy? Mayhaps!

I recently just purchased my new lease on life. I was stuck at a university where I switched majors about 4 times (Journalism, Theatre, English and the Allied Language Arts, and Social Work--Concentration: Drug Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation, and Family Therapy.) I had numerous jobs that didn't really make sense to me (body modification artist, receptionist, style assistant, and drug rehab therapist's assistant.) And I wasn't happy.

That's when I finally said, "Fuck a big bunch of this." and decided to follow my dreams. I have always been an artistic person. I wanted to live an artistic lifestyle. After living in the heart of Nashville, TN and am studying Photographic Imaging at the Art Institute, I have begun a journey that excites me every day to live it. And I am the happiest I have ever been.

I've got a mad amount of self-confidence. I've got an awesome family. I have wonderful friends (both offline and on.) I am a writer, a singer, a musician, an activist, a liberal, a photographer, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a blogger, a Southerner, a roleplayer, and so many more. I tend to think I have everything figured out. I argue incessantly. I play the Devil's Advocate. I dance...a lot. I never wear pants (and when I do, I am incredibly uncomfortable.) I love parentheses.

You can find me in a thousand different groups, undefined and without labels. I think that is the way to live.
