Southern rock is a genre of Americana that developed in the South from rock 'n roll, country, and blues. It focuses generally on electric guitar and vocals. The first wave included Barefoot Jerry, Charlie Daniels, and the Allman Brothers, but later other waves of Southern groups emerged, featuring boogie rhythms, fast guitar leads, and Southern working class lyrics.
