Thanks! It's actually a reference to the infamous Axeman of New Orleans...a serial killer who preyed on grocers in the early 1900s. He claimed in one letter to police to be a demon who was fond of jazz and would pass by any house in which jazz music was playing. I have kind of a morbid sense of humor as I happen to be a grocer who is fond of jazz ;)
