Emerald is made up of two other gems, located on both of her knees. Topaz is located on the left and Tanzanite on the right. A long time ago, during the beginning of the war between Earth and Homeworld, there was an internal conflict on the gem controlled planet. It was divided into a vicious hierarchy. Tribes of nomadic gems and capitalist gems were at war over control of land and it caused many to be captured and incarcerated, forced to fight in coliseums or be servants for higher class capitalist gems.
