The rules are: each of them pick ten 80s songs. After House insists upon certain earlier-written songs, Wilson relents. The rules change to no songs written after 1989.

House adds a rule: No sad songs to make the other uncomfortable. Wilson subsequently adds a rule: no songs longer than 7 minutes. House breaks that rule.
