As her teeth pierce the fruit, she knows the monsters in his skull will never be freed from their starvation. Her own heart is deceiving her, its strings playing symphonies far too delicate to be heard beneath the ground.
She is a slave, shackled to his skin, prisoner in his marrow. For she has learned to love the organ beneath that calloused chest, fibers condemned to the lick of eternal flames.
