Best of 2015

Notes

2015 was a year of lots of really good records and a handful of great records. So much so that I can't really put together any kind of full ranking because it would be way too arbitrary. My criteria for best is the records I returned to listening to, day after day, week after week, rather than a few listens here or there. By that criteria, two albums really rose to the top of the pile for me. I designate those as my #1 & 2 favorite albums of 2015.

1) Negative Scanner - Negative Scanner: Nothing kicked more ass, had better guitars, bass or drums or outright fury than the Scanners did. Play loud.

2) Primitive Parts - Parts Primitive: Ever since I left the UK, the bands there continue to get better and better. I never expected to hear a record that is equal parts Blur and Wire in 2015.
