You know the film. Weird but endearing girl or boy deals with a lot of high school existential bullshit but figures out that being yourself is the coolest thing you can be. Maybe Roky Erickson plays during a scene of our protagonist making a shampoo devilock in the shower while their normie sibling threatens them to stop hogging the bathroom. Maybe she sings "and shit yeah it's cool" from GBV while working on her homework or driving away from graduation. Before you ask, yes, there is a Big Star song. No, there is not an Elliott Smith song.
