Visions Of A Sky

Notes

This mix features a variety of dance, house and tech house songs from various known and up and coming DJ/remixer/producers. They all have warm, inspiration, deep and melodic vocals with touching lyrics that move your body, touch your soul and expand your mind. Some are a little more uptempo then others, but overall I think you'll like this track selection for its pace/tempo and organic sounds. I shot this mix cover photo on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina at sunset.

WOW! Really? You heard this in Toronto! That is so awesome. You never know where these things end up and I'm so glad you found it. You can also find true DJ mixes on my MixCloud.com/netmix page, but I'm getting ready to do a new Visions of a Sky playlist here and I'll let you know when it's posted. I hadn't even looked at the comments in a while, so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but glad I caught this and was able to comment back.

I'm not a DJ but I do want to become one very much. I'm guessing you're a DJ yourself. I'm thinking of starting once I got free time on my hand.

Yes, I am a DJ. I've been DJing for over 30-years actually! Showing my age, lol. I started DJing professionally (getting paid to DJ) when I was all of 12 years old. DJing and music production can be a career that takes you around the world. I taught a friend, DJ Scarlett Etienne, how to DJ and she's been to many countries and is now a singer, DJ and label owner. It's hard work. Sometimes it can be lonely, but other times when you influence people and play music you love, it can be the best feeling in the world. There is nothing like watching a sea of people dancing in front of you to what you are playing. So, I urge you to think about DJing - but don't just play records. Really look into it and understand mixing on beat, mixing on key, song structures and arrangements. There's more to DJing than just playing records back to back, it's an art form - like any other - that if you embrace it and make it your own, you can go far. Be yourself. Don't worry about what others say. It can be a hard world, because so many others have opinions, but it's the dance floor that matters. It's when people like you tell DJs like me they were inspired by the music - that's what makes it all worthwhile.

I absolutely love this mix. You did an awesome job.
And also the sunset is pretty amazing just as the story behind it :)

Thanks! Very sweet of you to share your thoughts! The sunset was pretty awesome. Never seen anything like it. The right time and the right place. Glad you liked the mix! I love doing them and sharing music that moves me!

Thanks lynny8, I'm really digging your mixes as well. Fantastic stuff. Are you a DJ outside of posting playlists to 8tracks?

By the way, I shot this photo on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina on the day I asked my sweetie to marry me last december. Pretty neat shot with the sun setting like that. pretty amazing sunset.
