on the viewing deck, you scarcely notice the wind tearing at your hair - or that your scarf is long gone, blown away to who-knows-where. all your attention is focused on the expanse of clouds before your eyes and the insistent thrum of the ship's steam engine below your feet. your heart seems to soar along in the airship's wake, and you think that maybe, just maybe, this wretched journey won't turn out to be so wretched after all.
