Notes
"Crooning" is a style of singing mostly associated with male vocalists of the 1920s & 1930s. Rudy Vallee was one of the first crooners and Bing Crosby is generally considered the master of that style, followed by Sinatra. The advent of the microphone allowed crooners to sing with a soft, intimate and sentimental style. Rock n'roll in the 50's interrupted the popularity of crooning, but it remained a popular genre featured on easy listening MOR (Middle of the Road) radio stations between the 50's to 70's. Enjoy these performances from Crooning inception to the present!
