Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers had a difficult trip to the top of the Rock heap, Critics at that time way back claimed his music didn't fit. He persevered, played many small venues until the nation discovered this incredible talent. His songwriting and vocals gave him a flavor all his own. His music simply doesn't age.
