Culture is easily reflected by music. Artists send messages through their music that are in particular to a certain moment of time, which resonates with audiences. Oftentimes the zeitgeist of music can capture history.
In 1969, it was anti-war sentiment and the beginning of psychedelic rock influenced by hard drugs, which all culminated during the iconic Woodstock festival with artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.
