Songs about Canada

Notes

The first song here is about the expulsion of Acadians during the French and Indian War. Neil Young gets nostalgic, followed by a guitar rendition of an old jazz standard named for the Canadian national symbol, and a British folk ballad about superstitious sailors en route to Canada. Joni Mitchell mentions her country of origin in a love song, a bunch of basement noise cover a song about separatist tensions in support of unity, and Cohen writes home to Quebec (translation: "If you see my country/ My unhappy country/ Go tell my friends/ That I remember them"). Last Neal returns to his country of origin.
