The Story of Music: Baroque

Notes

Now louder, and yet louder rise,
And fill with spreading sounds the skies;
Exulting in triumph now swell the bold notes,
In broken air, trembling, the wild music floats;
'Till, by degrees, remote and small,
The strains decay,
And melt away,
In a dying, dying fall.
- Alexander Pope, 'Ode on St. Cecilia's Day'

My high school choir performed Handel's Messiah every year, so when "And the Glory of the Lord" came on I had to try really hard not to start singing along! Thank you so much for making these wonderful playlists, I love learning about classical music :)

Heavenly music, indeed. What a broad and deep connection to music you have. Thanks for sharing so much.
